Its a Monday evening and I'm home alone. It's lovely, actually. I haven't been home alone in ages. Monday-Wed my mom works nights, and my brother feels the need to fill our house with teenage boys. Oh the joy!
Don't get me wrong, his friends are good guys. They are the nerdy type of boys. But, they are loud. I fall asleep listening to them talking passionately about computer programs, not demoralizing girls. It's cute, actually. They are good kids, I usually don't mind it, but having the house to yourself is mighty refreshing.
So what have I done on this evening off?
Well, Rodney came home with me after work. We got home around 630, and I was super surprised to find my brother missing, especially because his car was in the driveway. I gave him a call to see if he'd be home for dinner, but he was out playing at Universal Studios.
Instead, Rodney and I ordered pizza and chilled out at home, watching TV. He left around 830 to rescue his brother from the kids. His brother has a 2 year old and a 4 year old, and was home with them all day. Eeks!
You mean you didn't spend all night having crazy and wild sex with your boyfriend while no one was home?!
Uhm ... no. Not so much. The privacy was nice, though! I'd rather a peaceful evening inside than a loud evening out and about. I had homework to do anyway. And my hair looked like hell from sleeping on it all day Sunday because I had an awful migraine that I couldn't seem to shake off. I stayed in bed for most of the day and got little accomplished. Normally I would feel bad about this, but I think my body was telling me I needed to rest after a busy Saturday at work and an exhausting week at school. Whew!
Now I'm freshly showered, sitting in my fleece bathrobe and pajama pants. I have the heat on low, as I'm always cold, and made myself some fresh coffee. Mmmm ... the simple pleasures of life!
I still have some English homework to finish up and then I need to study for Humanities. Hell, I'll probably study for that silly test between classes tomorrow. My teacher is a major flake anyway. I somehow managed to get a 96 on the last test without even cracking my book. And the crazy lady assigned a 1500 word paper due next Tuesday ... but has yet to explain it or mention it again in class. She's batty! I have a feeling I'll be BSing my way through that paper Monday night.
3 more weeks until Spring break! Kind of lame, but whatever. I'll still be working, of course, but having some days to sleep in is always an added bonus. MMmm... sleep. I thought I'd be getting more of it once I graduated high school. That was the plan! Turns out I was wrong.
